I hope its worth it for those that have bought it- it is what it says- basic pickup winding but it started alot of people off for sure!
Got me started winding pickups for sure.

In the last 35 years I've built/restored/customized amps, re-coned speakers, built/restored/customized guitars, refretted necks, built/modified/customized effects...yadda, yadda, yadda. But until I got your book I had never built a pickup (from scratch). Thanks for writing and publishing it Jason.

On my to-do list is the notion of putting together a rig that I built from front-to-back. Guitar, pickups, wiring, effects, amp, speakers, cabinets etc and see what it sounds like.

Received, with very quick turnaround. A benefit of living in such close proximity to the publisher, I suppose. Looks great, and I look forward to digging into it as soon as I get settled into my new place. Thanks again, Jason.

Nice thought, but the question will only be posted on the listing if the SELLER clicks a box indicating that THEY want everybody to see it posted. Otherwise, the seller can just reply to the individual or ignore the question altogether.

Makes you wish you could... but then any old jerk could post crap on your listing.

              Good point.

Jason could put his own eBay sale up, and people would find his listing along with the con artists, and anybody who still buys from the con artists cannot be helped.

                great book

i bought jasons book when it first came out and set out building a machine. (i still use that machine more than my other two that i also built) reading jasons book helped me get set up in business and able to wind my own line of pickups as well as do rewinds for music stores. if you read this jason....another thanks again!!!

I am thinking seriously about buying this book.. but I have a few questions. I assume from the title that most of the book covers building the actually winder. How much in there about actual pickup designs? I'm an electronics engineer so I don't need a "for dummies" book. Just wondering if there is some build plans, templates or parts lists for the Gibson/Fender way of doing it

                      ....

Yes its mostly about how to build a winder, but there are templates and info on building all the major groups of pickups, strat, tele, buckers. There is nothing about pickup design or how to make "good" pickups, that part is up to YOU.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to know. I really just want something that will get me started with a "traditional" pickup. Then I can experiment with different materials, wire etc on my own.. That's part of the fun to me

I will also throw one up on ebay occasionally so you can buy one with pay pal which I dont take on my commercial site but I charge a little more on ebay because of the ebay and paypal fees but not enough to really offset the cost. Winds up they take about 20% of the selling price!
                          Jason:

I've seen auctions where the seller will be selling a sizeable quantity of an item as Buy It Now. That way they don't have to keep putting up a new auction each time they sell an item. I have no idea how the pricing would compare but your Buy It Now price should factor in all of the eBay and PayPal costs.

Not only would you sell lots of copies but everytime someone did a search for your book, your auction would be on that list, usually as the least expensive one. I would include something like "new 2010 edition" in the title so that information would be clearly visible.

                          Good luck!
