does this p/u look legit?

fender champ pickup for tele broadcaster Keith vintage - eBay (item 160412419581 end time Mar-21-10 10:00:28 PDT)

I'm considering buying this p/u for research purposes. Does anyone see any reason to doubt its authenticity? The guy has sold 3 others (see his feedback) and mentions in one old auction that he's tried as many as 20 of these old lap steel pups.

I'm most interested in the magnets. It looks authentic, but it's so hard to say.

Looks real to me, I think the magnets in it aren't the same as used in their regular tele pickups except maybe the real early ones.....

Not sure it'll be worth it, its either alnico 3 or some alloy you probably can't get anymore anyway. that pickup would kill in a guitar.......sob

Yeah if it is legit, then it's a good deal. The last two tele pickups I bought were $1700 and $700 (1950, and 1953).

It is completely legit but someone cut the heart out of a lapsteel and that's a crime. The magnets are cobalt steel.
