When doing rewinds, what are some preferred methods of removing the existing wire from the bobbin. Assuming it is removeable i.e. wax potted or no potting at all. Any different methods between strat/tele or humbucker bobbins?

I use a sharp 1/8" chisel, a pair of angled surgeon's scissors, and and various X-acto knives, depending on the bobbin. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

If it is a vintage pickup, I usually unwind it to get tpl and number of turns.
