    Goodbye, Gary.

You'll be sorely missed, but by no means ever forgotten.

      He will definitely be missed.
No-one could make a Les Paul sound as good as he could.

Truly tragic. I wish I had seen him live, but everytime I checked he was touring Europe. Supposedly Gibson's Burstbucker pickups were meant to clone the p/ups in his Peter Green Les Paul. Guy had the greatest tone...love the BBM CD and Still Got the Blues LP.

            Sad news.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

                Gary will be deeply missed.

On a related note, how long will it be before someone comes out with a Gary Moore "Parisienne" pickup?

Gibson made 2 different Gary Moore signature Les Pauls.
The first guitar in the 90s, had a double black Burst bucker 2 in the bridge. Zebra burst bucker 3 in the neck, wired out of phase when both pickups are selected.(This may be a Typo, the BB3 May have been in the Bridge)
The 2008 model had a burst bucker 3 in the bridge, and a P90 in the neck.

Parisien Walkways and Still Got The Bues For You are two of my favorite songs.

I have to say that I didn't care for a lot of his stuff, but when he was on, he was really on. He had that over-the-top thing going for him. Best sounding Marshall Guv'nor use on record probably.

I have a DVD of him at the Montreoux (probably spelled that wrong) jazz festival, he was great, and you got a chance to hear the old Greenie lester alongside Historics.

I really like the TL performance from The Old Gray Whistle Test, they did Don't Believe A Word where he a little dual mic'ed Marshall setup, one was doing the distortion and the other had an echoplex, sounded really good IMHO. Busted a string during one of the solo's and kept on rockin like a trooper.

R.I.P. Gary, it's time to jam with Jimi and the rest of the band!
