    Sure you can, but you need the right flux. While one can use tinner's flux, the traditional flux for stainless contains phosphoric acid.

      You don't want to use acid flux solder on electrical connections, we're talking 2 electrical solder joints on baseplates, not counting putting covers on. I've never seen stainless used for electrical connectors before.

        The trick is to tin the stainless steel before assembly, well away from anything vulnerable, then wash the corrosive flux residue off with hot water. Subsequent soldering to the tinned part of the SS will be easy.

        It's not true that SS is not used for electrical things - lots of RF connectors are made of passivated SS, largely for physical strength.

        Anyway, this is only for grounding a shield (and physically attaching it), carrying no significant current.
