    I think "O.L." on your DVM indicates OPEN-LOOP, another way of saying there isn't continuity.

    Or it could indicate OVER-LIMIT.
    ie: beyond the limits of the meter to register, such as "infinity" on a resistance scale.

      I don't think it is a surprise that a coil might show a problem after the stress of heat cycling that will happen when potting. Things expand and move and a coil will have more stress applied during the potting process than any time before or after.
