  • Where to source magnets?

Looking to do an experiment with various magnet diameters and lengths.. types.. blah blah blah. Conventional and unconventional. I know Addiction-FX has really good prices for conventional guitar magnets but I'm looking for some magnets with maybe.. 1/4" diameter? I know.. pretty big.. but it is an experiment after all!

also.. where do you get your wire from while we are at it?

    Suggestions are welcome.

I don't even know if they make 1/4" rod magnets, mind you, but IIRC, the only magnet maker willing to sell you samples is Arnold Magnets. If I was you I'd try there first.

Mojotone.com, StewMac.com, and there are a number of other E-Bay shops dealing with wire. Google is your friend!

If you're in Europe, Mr. Candy has good wire reasonable priced. (Andreas Pickup Parts)

If you can cut them, mcmaster carr sells 4" long Alnico 5 and Alnico 8 rods in 1/4" diameter.

Only Alnico 5 at the moment. If they are big enough sellers I can add some other Alnico's.
