  • Blade Pickups

    Hey guys,

I was thinking about trying my hand at winding some blade pickups. What is the best way to cut a clean slot in the forbon? I've tried a sharp razor knife but just ended up with a mess.

    Thanks in advance!

Stan, IF you have a table saw you could "lift" a 7" thin kerf blade up through the forbon and clean up with the razor blade. I'd probably look for a 1/16" router bit first. The old standby is to drill a row of small holes and connect them with a jeweler's saw

I use a router bit, either in a laminate trimmer or most of the time in a drill press.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
