Clint Searcy of Searcy String Works in Nashville understands Kay Speedbumps and might help you.
Searcy String Works"Det var helt Texas" is written Nowegian meaning "that's totally Texas." When spoken, it means "that's crazy."

Go back to Ebay, its probably the only place you're going to find them. They use a huge alnico bar magnet with a coil wrapped around the lower part, heavily embedded in wax of some sort.http://www.SDpickups.com

I told Lonnieboy on another thread, to buy some off ebay, even if they are defective.
He can get them rewound if he can find some cheap enough.
Lots of Us on here have repaired them before.
They are a pain in the A$$, but rewindable!

Yeah the one I have the flatwork on them is paper and they fall apart when you take pickup apart. The wax is difficult to melt for some reason, messy to work with. Doesn't fit regular guitars so I never repaired it.....http://www.SDpickups.com

Might have to do some shimming, and use a pickup ring.
You would have better hum canceling Pickups at the end of the day.

Yeah I still have it but I have a pickup "museum" so I keep stuff like that in case I need to look things over down the road. So do I have to "flush" the pickup, LOL ;-) That wax is real nasty stuff, takes high heat and a plunger to get it out ;-)http://www.SDpickups.com
