Last week a guy brought me something called a "Neptune Shorty;" a Jerry Jones mini-12-string tuned up an octave.
Lipstick-tube-looking pee-cups measured about 3.5K DCR each. Customer wanted them permanently wired in parallel 'cuz that's the only sound he uses; so the DCR became 1.75K.
Wanted a tone controlling then hole left by the toggle. I ended up using a 90K audio pot (marked 100K) w/a .05 cap. Sounded a lot like my usual 250K/.015 combos for more normal applications (meaning very open sounding when open with a nice useable midrange honk when fully CCW and very nice trimming of the trebles in between.)
Someday this might save someone some time...
