All the companies that I found sell Something between these sizes
I tried to use these but it seems that the thickness is very critical to the final sound

While eddy current loading (as measured with instruments) varies a great deal with lamination thickness, the acoustic effect varies far more slowly. Both thickness and number of laminations matters, as does the alloy.

The 1/16" thickness was not chosen by science, it's just what was easily available in the US.

I would just try the thicknesses you can easily get, and also the number of laminations used per coil, and listen. The test is cleanest if you use the same coil-and-bobbin assembly and install the various blades one after another while testing, so variations in the coil cannot confuse things.

Also, unless it's preventing you from getting a certain tone, I wouldn't worry about eddy current loading. Very often it's used to an advantage in smoothing out the top end. Some of my early tests with laminated stainless steel blades produced harsh edgy tones that I wasn't looking for in the pickup I was working on. Replacing the laminated blades with an unlaminated low carbon steel blade actually improved the tone of that pickup.

i also find that the 440c stainless steel that we talk about have strong magnetic flux and creates edgy tones (with ceramic and alnico 2,3,5 )
I understand why you should soften it with nickel core
i want to try the Opposite small 440c core and nickel what do you think?
the prob with the blade is Just like you said it's preventing me from getting a certain tone
the big blade of the x2n read more of the string vibrations Combined with good construction its make very good balanced
i cant get it with strat blade or mojotone hum blade if thay will be A little wider I think I can adjust the other variables
But not vice versa
i can build pickup like hot rail or bill l500l but not like x2n
i have a GFS x2n(gfs power rails) that i changed and thay sound ok+
also i changed the artec rails and thay sound only ok

I didn't use nickel steel. I used 1010, which has phosphorous, carbon, manganese, and sulfur.

Magnetic stainless doesn't have nickel in it either. When they add nickel it is no longer magnetic, which is odd, since nickel is ferromagnetic.

Nickel steels are in the 23xx, 25xx series.

Mojotones blades are unplated mild steel ,probably 1010 or 1018
Mojotone Blade for Strat or Tele Bridge Bobbin

I use all the listed parts except the blades.
I make my own out of mild steel sheet metal I have on hand.
Very satisfied with the tone.
You can buy 1/16"x 3/4" 1018 from McMaster Carr.

Are they not good enough or jast not for you?

I use the Mojo blades for those single coil size rails, but I make my own blades for all my bass pickups.
