  • CE Distribution Magnet Wire Info?

I have a spool of magnet wire that I bought from CE Distribution a long time ago. I'm finally deciding that I want to build some pickups (just as a hobby). But I was curious what kind of wire I already have. I bought it when I didn't know there were different types of insulation on magnet wire. All it says on their product page is:
42-gauge magnet wire for winding pickup coils,.25 pounds. 105°C temperature rating, 600V.
Does anyone know anything about the insulation on this wire?

Here is a link to the type of wire I got: Wire - Magnet, 42 Gauge, 1/8 lb (Approximately 6, 000 feet) | CE Distribution

Formvar is 105º rated, I bet that's what it is.

      Odd product description....

It says 1/8th pound in big letters, then underneath it says .25 pounds.

The 6000 feet is barely enough to do one pickup so I think they screwed that up too. CeDist is a weird place, they sell weird stuff and they make you sign up for a wholesale account and then charge everyone retail prices. I never figured them out.

No, their retail site is Antique Electronic Supply

          The prices are different.

They sell mostly tube amp related parts, but I buy some stuff from them.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
