It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

yeah telecasters with formvar!!!! I dont think seymour came up with that- another thing you dont typically think when you are reading a book that there could be a misprint or unintended error that got passed over during editing- been there seen that. You can have several people proof read something several times and still miss something

Unfortunately Jason he's got jazzmasters, jazz bass, precision bass and more with formvar and states he got the info from Seymour but as you say I doubt it. He has had years to edit but never has and it must have thrown a lot of guys in the wrong direction.

Winders should always try different wires to get the tone you like.
Unless you're strictly doing vintage winds, I use SPN, HPN for everything but rewinds.
I rewound a J-Bass set with HFV per request, and the customer loved them.
YMMV,

Almost all claimed orig. Broad-, No-, Champion Steel and Telecaster PU I've been presented by customers were wound w. HFW. I remain puzzled and tend to think that they must have been either rewound at some time or being simply fake. I dunno.Last edited by Telemachos; 08-17-2013, 12:05 PM.
