Forum slooooooowwww....

I don't know 'bout you guys but at my end, for the last week or so, the Forum is loading slower than a snail with terminal cancer.

Is it just me...?

Thought it was just me! Took about a minute and a half to load this thread up, and that's on 400MB/s internet. I haven't been able to load up an attached image on here for a couple of weeks either

I think maybe T-Boy might be running off a home server with throttled upload speeds. Either that or he has the worst ISP ever or both. I guess we could all send him money so he could afford a dedicated IP address and server at a top-notch ISP.
Could it be that you folks are also waiting for the 3rd party ads to load too? Try an adblocker plugin with your browser.
I'm going to send T-Boy $10 right now because I never see or click-through on the ads which support this place.
I challenge everyone here to do the same and report back here.

As far as the ad loading goes, it's not the issue. I have ad block+ and the forum is MUCH slower than usual the last week or so.

I have been clicking on something here, then going elsewhere in a new window while it slowly downloads.


tboy is a generous and gracious host, but the forum worked OK a week or two ago, presumably on the same equipment or same ISP. My, admittedly a non-computer person, working theory is some sort of infestation like a virus slowing him down. Like it needs a good reboot and a cleanout.


And yes, we should all donate to the fund, I surely do not do so often enough.

About a week or so ago all the files were downloading really slowly, but have not noticed a problem this week. I am sure it is at certain peak times when many are online at once. Best part about checking in here at 3am is that most are sleeping. Still checking the site during the day the last few days it has not run slow on me.

Yeah I have not donated anything lately and meant to for a while now. Maybe it is a PBS Xmas pledge drive!! I will donate later today!

Edit: Actually posting this message just now went a bit slow... Go figure.

When I was on around 3AM, it was so slow I about gave up. Now at 10AM, it is running much faster, though not what you would call fast.

10 AM Thurs here in middle America. REALLY slow but not minutes worth, more like 15-20 seconds.
