Know how much copper is in nickel-silver?

    Amount of copper varies greatly.
The manufacturer of the metal will provide a spec sheet.

I think you want to know its conductivity. It varies between about 5% and 9% of the value for copper. The effect would be much less.

One can do the dropped-magnet test using an almost-vertical slanted sheet of metal with the magnet sliding down the sheet.

That magnet down the pipe experiment may have more to do with eddy currents ( and temporary electromagnetic fields from them ) the moving magnet sets up in the copper pipe as it slides thru rather than strictly the magnetic properties of copper.
This isn't the future I signed up for.

You could drop magnets down a variety of alloy sheets and see how makeup affects the eddy currents. Presumably that corresponds to conductivity.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, Mike. What I'm saying is "do you know how much copper is in nickel/silver?" Average is 60-65%.

                cheers,
I thought you were trying to figure out what happens when you drop a magnet through a nickel-silver pipe. It is the conductivity that counts, which as Joe said, can be different from that implied by the fraction of copper.

                  right on
I was just passing the video along as something of interest to those who may be not be winding pickups for a living.
                  I found it pretty fascinating
