Are you using the same length magnet for the 7 string? Shortening it up a little in the length makes that fu#@!@ crack with harmonics and makes it more aggressive. Been a while, but I think most 7's use 70mm?
The V7 is actually a pickup on their 6 string guitars. I do make 7 string pickups and for them I use regular 63mm magnet just like I use in a 6 string pickup. I tried using 70mm magnets and didn't like them.
