I want to add mini humbucker rings (the cutout p-90 cover style) to our parts but wanted to know if anyone has experienced problems with available aftermarket rings not fitting Gibson USA routes. Corners being too sharp? I know this is an issue with aftermarket p-90 covers which is why I had Gibson spec ones made. Not sure about mini rings though....

You are always better off buying real Gibson Parts, than aftermarket. Buy from Gibson dealer...research the parts on Gibson Websites.
Seymour Duncan has really nice parts, that fit perfectly also. Seymour has great attention to details.
I am always disappointed with cheap knock off parts, and I would not recommend them. I have had nothing but headaches with "all parts" etc...cause they never fit right.
It's well worth the extra cash to get parts that fit.
Just because somebody on the internet tells you it's a "replacement," does not mean it will FIT.

I have found that there is slight problems with the sharper coners causing the the pickup to bind a little .

Why not just laser out the Gibson spec one you already have to fit over the minis.
I finally got some P90 covers from Allparts this week and they have 1/4" radius corners.
Jason Lollar's P-90 overs are probably right on the money though i don't have a radius gauge to know for sure
Another point might be to supply folks with the right length of screw along with 4 nylock 3/48 nuts to hold the fricking minis at the correct height without having to solder washers in place on the screw adjacent to your ring and potentially melting it.

allparts and stew mac P-90 covers often dont fit in Gibsons- alot of time they do but if you are making alot of P-90s you dont want 1 or 2 or 3 out of 10 not fitting.
I have drawings of the metal plates- they made three different types- 2 of which are just 1/2 wide bar stock- the third is a part you would have to have a stamp made to do but the bar stock version works just as well- I can just describe it actually and you could make it- its 1/2 bar stock 3.2 long with two holes located where the P-90 mounting screws normally go and two holes located where the mini height adjustment screws go- all 4 holes are tapped for 3-48
another set of two holes are drilled two inches apart on center .15 diameter- these are for screwing the plate to the bottom of the pickup route with wood screws- dont recall the size but i would guess they are #6 due to the hole size, anyone with a hacksaw, hand drill and tap can make these- unless you are making hundreds it only takes a matter of minutes.

I have had good fit with the allparts mount rings. Wilkinson also makes a mount ring with an easy direct to mount screw on each side of the ring, although it certainly isn't vitnage correct - it is convenient though. If you need to make a mount bar for the p90 style ring should take you about 5 minutes with some cheap aluminum bar stock as noted above. There is a diagram floating on the internet for somewhere for this. Or you could even 3D print it...
