    I was reviewing a Charlie Bar I wound a few weeks ago. Modelling a P90 but with a 3/16" 1018 steel bar polepiece and only 9500 turns of 42SPE I got an inductance of 9.23H @120hz with A4 mags!. Kinda blows the old soapbar out of the water....

      Snap! I thought that sort of inductance was something you wanted to avoid. Guess I don't know what I don't know: I suppose "iron loading," like any ingredient in the pickup building recipe, can be a little or a lot!
