The pics I've seen of the 57/08s have brass base plates.
    What's with that?
IMO They can't be too serious PAF clones with Cheap High stealing brass bass plates.

Paul seems to be a great marketer, but I like his personality....Mr Fender and Mr Gibson aren't out there pimping their wares.

Thos numbers seem pretty hot for a PAF style build.

I was in touch with a particular person in PRS sometime ago. they are very secretive about their pickups and will not divulge much info at all.

(however it seems to me they are not shy when it comes to the marketing hype, they don't like to talk facts and numbers)

Yes Mike, all as measured on the pickups and given in the eBay descriptions. AFAIK PRS have never published the specs for these anywhere.

Could those numbers be the actual measurements of the pickup they were found on rather than a spec.?.

    eg
    Example 1. DC Resistance: Bass - 8.12 ( 4.06 single coil )
    Example 2. Treble 8.84, Bass 8.19
    Example 3. Treble 8.60, Bass 7.78
    Example 4. Treble 9.00, Bass 8.18
    Example 5. Treble 8.98, Bass 8.09

... OK, I've also read a few people compare these to the Bareknuckles "Stormy Monday" pickups which are 7.7k PE with AlNiCo II

The Blurb from makers web site
A sweet, articulate humbucker with warm bass, hollow mids and smooth high end that is extremely clear and dynamic.

Authentically vintage in both voicing and output, the Stormy Monday humbucker is completely handwound with vintage correct 42 AWG plain enamel wire and handcrafted with butyrate bobbins, calibrated sand cast Alnico II magnet, solid nickel silver baseplate and cover.

As with the early 'Patent Applied For' humbuckers, the coils are wound asymmetrically for extended frequency response and touch sensitive feel. The Stormy Monday faithfully reproduces the tones of the brighter '57 & '58 era PAFs with smooth natural sustain, wonderful pick dynamics and string separation. Low notes have warmth and fullness; the highs are sweet and mellow while the mids are slightly scooped producing a soft, percussive vintage tone.

    Google is your friend

What I found with a quick look around on google
5708 Treble Pickup and is wound to 7.91k, the Bass is wound to 7.78k ... probably with 42 PE (read on re original wire) ... "I am pretty sure they are A5's like the 59's"

DCR readings given here as 7.8k at the bridge

Simply fantastic sounding pickups, very nice PAF tones in bucker mode but coil tap incredibly well for believeable single coil tones. Not huge output so you get a nice sweetness to the notes ... which would imply some sort of offset with possibly the stronger wound coil being made available when coil tapped.

    PRS' blurb on 57/08's:

PRS's 57/08 pickups have a clear, articulate and open sound that works wonders in a whole variety of musical settings, which might be why many consider the 57/08 to be the best pickup ever made by PRS.

Paul Reed Smith acquired exclusive rights to the original pickup wire from the original machine used to make the most revered ‘50s era pickups in 2008, and 1957 was the year the humbucker was first commercially available, giving rise to PRS Guitars’ most exclusive pickup, the 1957/2008. PRS is very guarded about its pickup specs – magnet type, wire gauge, etc – and while the pickups' name, 1957/2008, tells us exactly what they're aiming for, Paul Reed Smith will not be drawn on specifics other than stating that the pickups differ from, say, the 245 humbuckers.

Paul was quoted as saying: "We have the old stuff being made again and it sounds exactly like the old stuff. It's the wire and the magnet and everything else. There is a magic to those old PAFs – that's why they cost a couple of thousand dollars each. So, basically, you're getting two pickups and a free guitar and case!"

and some more : 1957/2008™ Paul Reed Smith Pickups
Paul Reed Smith acquired exclusive rights to the original pickup wire from the original machine used to make the most revered ‘50s era pickups in 2008, and 1957 was the year the humbucker was first commercially available, giving rise to PRS Guitars’ newest and most exclusive pickup, the 1957/2008™.

    Good luck.

This is basically just a Pickup making site.
Most of us build our own variations of classic pickups, and newer designs.
The pickups you mention are just basic humbuckers.
IMO I doubt they will sound much different than any other good PAF Replica.
