The interesting thing here is the ability to specify patterns of north-up, and south-up magnetic sources as you would anything else on a computer, and then conveniently print the pattern on a piece of "blank" magnetic material. The implication that there is some kind of technological breakthrough on the kinds of field patterns you can create is horse shit. You can make the simpler patterns by bundling together small rod magnets with north up and south up as required, or any other clever method you devise. The break through is the convenience, although I wonder how strong the fields produced really are. The video kind of reminds me of some ex-boxer selling a grill.
