  • Single poly insulation on Rem wire

    Folks -

So, in an effort to get to the bottom of some inconsistencies I measured a pickup lying on my bench; it read 7.5k

    Squeezed the sides, 6.3k

Geez... I've seen a little of this in the past but this seems way outta line.

Is it, or is it me who's outta line?

Basic hand winding. Polished wire guides covered with slick tape, so no loss of insulation there. Chamfered inside flange edges on both spool & bobbin.

None on my fingers, either, although I've never seen such a thing happen.

        Actually.....

I just realized that this roll is labeled "Electrosola," whatever that means these days.

The Remington I often use in fact gives me no such headaches.
