Anyone knows where I can get 53mm bobbin, baseplate..? I hoped to order all parts in a bulk. Want parts to humbucker 50mm and 53mm, about 20 each, strat/tele, and some bass... precicion/jazz. Got wire and magnets.
(damn!!!! research in the physics of pickups take time.... still have not winded)

I've never had any problem with Pat whatsoever. I haven't ordered recently, so I don't know if he's given it up but I do know that he seems to prefer doing business by phone. Every order I've placed with him since he took over from Alex was by phone and promptly filled. He contacts by e-mail if there's a new product or he's trying to move some inventory.
The website is still up, so maybe something could be resolved through them.

If you're a hobbyist trying to onesy-twosy stuff, just suck it up and buy some minimums. In the end, your cost per pickup will be well worth it and you'll have plenty to experiment with.
Given the paucity of options with respect to parts - at least humbucker parts - you need to develop a bit of a thick skin in dealing with these guys and suck up a few flawed parts here and there. Trashing them publicly for what amounts to minor stuff hurts us all. Some folks here have a pretty high opinion of themselves and I can't imagine being in Pat's shoes on the other end of that.
From what I saw in the past, Steven sources mostly the same bucker parts as Guitar Jones. He may even get them from GJ since he was out of the short legged frames at the same time they were on backorder for so long from GJ (I assume he does but I haven't purchased form him in years - maybe he'll make a rare appearance here to clarify). He can also be as challenging as anyone to work with for parts orders.
I'd try the phone with Pat. If he's given up the business, then it would be nice if the couple of fellows here that were "tooling up" to provide parts would come through. Andrew sells decent parts, though I wish the holes in the screw bobbins were just a bit larger in diameter (just about 0.3-0.5mm would be nice).

bucker parts
The covers come from WSC and you can order direct from them. Problem is with minimum order of bucker covers which is 50, then you add the $125 shipping fee and then $40 to wire money to their account, the covers end up costing $6-7 each. Its better to go through Pat because it comes on a boat and shipping is less. But if you order alot of stuff it could become economical. They make raw unplated nickel covers I really want to get and might pay the higher price if Pat doesn't appear soon. As for the other source mentioned for parts, I quit using him a long time ago, the orders would be wrong, they would short a number of parts and if I complained I never got the rest of my parts, Pat is way better than that.....
I only hope the fires didn't get him....http://www.SDpickups.com

if anyone is interested in unplated covers let me know, I'm not against a couple of us going in together on a purchase, it would be a minimum of 50 pieces per person......http://www.SDpickups.com

I wouldn't mind finding another source for brushed nickel covers or something along those lines.
