Air coil winding tips...

Hello everybody,

Any idea on how to wind an air coil?

I have to rewind a pickup (Stimer) where I have to first make an air coil and then put it in place with a bar magnet in the middle, after I have waxed or varnished (Shellac) it.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You need to make a former to wind it on. Think of a hamsters wheel. Make it the diameter of the original coil. Once wound, tie the coil between the 'rungs' of the wheel so you can remove it. Then some coils were wrapped with ribbon and some with cellotape.
