You've caught me slipping something in again. You'll notice words like ass or nipples in all my artwork.

On a more serious note when you get to Possum's age it's not so much shaggin' as saggin' .

Sorry Spence time to stop all this age bashing. Possum's younger than me so it's getting me worried. Which is what his dogs will do to your sheep as well.

Yep, thats what I have. I saved the cardboard top that was die stamped for the inductance pieces. The base had this brown furry stuff glued to the bottom along with a couple of felt pads. The brown fur came off when I cleaned the bobbin glue with some alcohol. I thought about using craft "flock" and some spray adhesive to replicate it, any thoughts?

I used some cardboard from a ceral packet for the bottom part of the bobbin.
How many people can say they have a pickup signed by Kellogs?

Spray adhesive will be fine though I used Copydex rubber cement.

I'm using "Pliobond" for the bobbin, it's like the original stuff. It's the fuzz I dont know about. I may just leave it bare metal or paint it flat black.

That's just some spray on flocking. You can get it from woodworking or hobby stores. They might have also coated it with glue and dipped it in dry flocking.

That's there to protect the finish on the guitar's top.

Are you talking about inside the case that the bobbin sits on?
I seem to remember the underside of the cover had two green circular felt pads on the ones I repaired but I can't remember the inside as well as I'd like. The brown fuzzy stuff rings a bell.

Yeah, the bottom, on the outside along with the felt pads. I looked at it with a magnifier and it looks like felt dust that was dusted on some brown glue. I guess it was to soften the hard metal edges and protect the guitars finish.

Yeah, since Bae has been doing auctions instead of Buy Now, those spools for for around $90 instead of $60.

I got a 2lb spool of #42 from them for $25 about four months ago BIN. I guess those days are gone.

Can anybody suggest a source for about 4000 feet of 44 AWG?

Scientific wire of London will do small spools for you. You will be charged a lot of money for such a small quantity relative to the usual 6 Kg spools they supply. Also 44 AWG is very much more expensive than 42 AWG because you get a greater length of wire for the same weight.

Thanks, I sent them a message asking for 4000 feet. I looked at their site and saw "50 grams 0.045mm Solderable Enamelled Copper Wire" and "250 grams 0.050mm Solderable Enamelled Copper Wire". The 0.045 is AWG 45 and should work OK. I figure all I need is 3/4 of an ounce(1 ounce = 28.35 grams), so 250 grams is too much. But, then again, I could get the 0.050, and sell what I don't use. Thanks again for the source, Spence.
