I agree with Sonny, If you go the plastic bobbin route ,You will love how the eyelets sink into the plastic bobbin with too much heat
I have a strat pickup in the neck of one of my teles that has a plastic bobbin .
I rewound it & it does sound pretty good ,All Fender pickups except the Customshops use plastic bobbins"UP here in the Canada we shoot things we don't understand"

Maybe GFS.
I don't need much more to do now anyway.
Besides Hunting Season is coming up!

Our season in Texas is only open for doves now, but already emailing my hunting buddy about getting our camp set up for Opening day Nov 3.
No new pickups made today, but finished up testing on 5 of the '65s that were hanging around not tested and put them into their boxes for inventory. That's enough to cover any possible pending orders, but out of one size of magnets again, so didn't start any new ones until my last order gets here by carrier pigeon or whatever they are using these days. (Could be Deja Vu all over again on ADFX.)Last edited by SonnyW; 09-07-2012, 05:13 AM.www.sonnywalton.com

I sent an email and backed out on the Cheap guitar SCs.
You can only get so cheap, then it's not any fun any more! lol

Btw,my uncle used to sit on his back porch at Mt Ida, and get his freezer full every year. Mostly on the first day. He had 90 acres. Where I am in Plano, it is legal to bag 2 bucks and 2 does, but to do it you have to use a bow in archery season because it isn't legal to discharge a firearm in the city limits. Besides that, there aren't any. So I have to drive 2 hours to the Red River where my buddy has family land. We go up there a lot. Usually we just get one each and stop. Last year we only got one and split it. But four years ago, my partner got 3 in the first hour.www.sonnywalton.com

The Blade Pick Guard is gone.
My B-Stock Strat will be here tomorrow, and Addtl Neck I ordered.
Red River, is that over close to Texarkana?
My friend is still talking about buying my 2204 Clone.
So I'm plotting and planning what to build next.
I think it will be more of a Mender, or Farshall!
Built on the Cascade 2204, but with iron for 6L6 Tubes.
I have an idea of modifying a 18 Watt Mojo Marshall Chassis.
If it works out OK, I will share it later.

This is the first time since February that I don't have any guitars in the shop to work on. I have 2 here that haven't been picked up yet. And I have one other that is kind of a family deal that I have been working on in my spare time, but no new paying customers bringing them in so far this week.
Where we go near the Red River is at Nocona. That is kind of halfway between Gainsville and Wichita Falls. My buddy has 44 acres there but there is another 140 acres or so of his familys land adjacent to it that we have pretty much the run of. He and I were both Assistant Scoutmasters together and camped all the time for 15 years when our boys were little, so we just camp and rough it. Set up our campsite and leave it up for the season. Not much in the way of facilities there. It is mainly rangeland and scrub oak, and it is right on the old Chisolm Trail near where they crossed the river back in the day. So we do a lot of cowboy cooking chuck wagon style. Going up there is one of my favorite things to do, except when it is hot like now.
A lot of Marshalls are just an upside down Fender design anyway usually, except for swapping out the equivalent European tubes and parts.www.sonnywalton.com
