  • Who's winding ?
I just rewound a set of harmony/tiesco/silvertone pups
like these Teisco Harmony Silvertone Single Coil Pickup with MountScrews | eBay
Bobbin height is about 1/8" (A bucker magnets in very snug)
They are not as easy as they look to wind

I collected Teiscos for a time, and have been into a several of those, and other similar ones. I never did rewind one, but I have often thought about trying to make a reproduction version of the one that has the gold foil. It looks to me like a lot of them use that same thin coil with the nylon bobbin, just in different configurations of magnets and polepieces. I bet they had a fixture and would them ganged up in multiples, with a tailpiece.

I wound about 20 pickups today. Mostly on the same three bobbins. Actually I lost count of how many. Working on a new design strat pickup. More wire in the box. I just about wore out my scissors cutting wire off. Finally got three done to test out tomorrow, and I'm heating up the wax pot now.

I don't know if this will help. This is a shot of a Teisco Tulip which originally had two pickups. One has been removed, but the factory wiring remains on the other one. The black and green go to ground on the volume pot, the red in this one goes to the switch, but it would be the same if without the switch it went to the right lug looking at the back of the pot. Center lug of the pot does go to the tip of the jack.

If you don't already have it wired.
I Think You want to wire it like a J Bass, without the tone.

I have some 195x.710", not sure how many. maybe 100 or so . I don't use many so I would be willing to trade for anything shorter.

                          • I wired it like the diagram you had ,I had it originally wire the same but used the center lug on the pot to the hot from the jack ,I figured it should of worked ,But id did replace both pots & it worked great ...Really I still don't understand why both ways would not work

                            • I heard back from the Little Rock Muscian that bought my blade pick Guard.
                              They practiced tonight.
He really likes the sound, and was so impressed with the Hum Free P/Us, in the noisy club they were playing in.
He and his band members have several more instruments for me to beat on!
