I am stuck here with W7 and a fairly recent laptop, but trying to figure out where the last post is in the thread is a problem for me. My connection is not the best either.

If you will go to the top of the page to display tab.
Go to linear mode, instead of Hybrid mode.
In Linear mode it will always go to the last post.
It makes this big thread much easier to handle.

are the first pickups we ever wound bad !!!! No ....................but it could take years to replicate them

I have switched to linear mode and the only reason I have for this post is to get closer to the 70 posts needed to stop this goofyness.

Only 60 posts to go. Today I rewound one coil of a P.A.F. that I was planning on sending out for a demo pickup. It happens sometimes that the solder connection to the buried lead wire is bad. So far this is the first one like that for me, but I didn't catch it until assembly. So I eventually had to cut off the wire and rewind the coil. Out of over a hundred humbuckers, this is the first time this has happened to me. No big problem just a delay and pain in the ass.

That sounds like a PE issue?
I am fixing to make some PAF looking Pickups.
With a few of my own twists.
Mojo has 2 different PAF baseplates.
I've not used either one.
I guess if I buy the kit they sell it would have this baseplate in it?
Anyone tried these?
There for a while, all I seemed to sell, was a strat SC. lol

No not at all, just one of my clones. I wish I was rewinding real ones now and then. I guess I should have been more careful with my typing, and said clone. The customer really wanted it to have all the little details and especially the replica P.A.F. sticker for some reason on this one and so it was on my mind.

Also, yes Terry the bad connection probably wouldn't have happened if I wasn't using the PE. But my guess is, this customer would have gone on to some other maker if he thought it wasn't PE wire either, whether it actually sounds any different or not. I just need to be more careful with my wire preparation. It was probably not enough sanding.
