  • Next tele pair coming up

    Okay,

So I am about ready to wind my next set for my tele.
The body is a 3 pce sassafras which I think is similiar to ash or oak, the grain is open like ash, at least thats what it looks like, the weight is about 5.7 lbs.
So I have Alnico 2,3,and 5's. and my wire is the schatten design/stewmac poly-nylon stuff.

I was thinking of making the bridge low and wider by protruding the slugs above the top flatwork, I believe they are .630 in height.
I would rather have it darker than too brittle.

Any thoughts on # of winds, resistance, coil size, which mags would work best to point me in the right direction.
Also what about the neck pu.

I will also be fianlly building my Elepro gauss meter real soon too.

    Thanks Bill

Hi, I just ran across this Post looking around the Forum.. are you not concerned with use of a 3 piece wood ? & no string thru Body as to the final tone of the Guitar ?

      Hi Butch,

The body is actually string through, it just wasn't done at time of photo, and as for it being a 3 pce, consider that there is no glue joint under the bridge as with a 2 pce but a full piece from neck pocket to strap pin, any energy resulting from the strings will probably have better transference since it is not in two separate pieces, I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference between a 2 or 3 piece body.

Any thoughts on pickup specs here?

      Bill
