Hello Fellow Techs,
I have yet another Fender Stage 1000 with another digital effects issue. They are both from the same independent small store owner, who would have had to just eat these two amps were I not able to repair them. I really like to support the smaller business owners having myself owned a small biz repair shop in Denver.
This symptom is VERRRY Intermittently there is a horrible noise from the amp and the digital LED's start scrolling. If you open the amp & wiggle the 16pin ribbon cable that goes from the digital board on the back panel to the main board, you will probably have the noise go away & the amp starting to function.
Initially, I attempted to repair the ribbon cable. I just figured it couldn't be sourced. Well, the amp returned.
This time I found a replacement cable from Digikey pn: A3AAH-1606G ($7.04c). I haven't received it yet, but it looks identical.
Anyway, that might help anyone that has this super intermittent symptom.
Thanx, Glen
