Hello folks,
I have had a couple of these amps where the it will not load past the initial screen which momentarily indicates it's 'Loading Host' and 'Loading DSPOS'.. I tried holding the 'Save' button & powering up to no avail. If you press the 'Exit' button & power up, you get a canned message of 'appears that pressing the 'Save' button & powering up is the factory reset for this amp, but does not remedy the symptom. If you depress & hold the 'Exit' button while powering up, you get the message above then 'Team B-Dec' and 'Chuck Adams BG-DEC King'.
I suppose neither are a factory reset. Now the unit comes on with just one button lit and no screen.
Per Fender the digital board is NLA.
I did have one of these amps where it appeared the +-5V regulators were flakey & keeping them cool seemed to resolve the issue, but to no avail when replaced.
I got as far as the 3.3V & 1.8V sources on the digit board as well as the 2 resets & found no issues. I only spent this much time as I've seen a few of these & thought possibly I might find something replaceable.
Anyone find anything else with these units? I suppose it could just be corrupted Firmware, which of course you cannot do anything about!
find G-DEC schemos attached. I believe this is very close to the B-DEC.
Thanx, glen
