Hi everyone!
Few days ago i found in the neibourhood trashes a Roland D-50 in a hard case.
There was a problem with power supply - after plugging it to ac there was no sound and some garbage on LCD.
I replace one of the positive voltage regulators - it was giving about 11.6V instead of 12V. I replace too a resistor which sets current on zener diode - this gives a 5.1V to mute pin( there was about 4.9V on it because there was too small current through diode (less than 5mA) ). Funny why Roland chose too large resistor value...
Nonetheless, the synthesizer is now working! I must replace volume potentiometer and one key is not responding but probably it needs cleaning.
But there is another issue.
I haven't use D-50 earlier so i don't no how it shoud sound exactly... When i use some of the patches it could be heard a slight downward pitch-shifting but only on eighth hit on particular key. I can repeat hitting one key on and on and on every eight hit i can hear this slight shift in pitch. For more fun it is not on every key but on every of C, A, and D# !!!
Any, any idea?
P.S. Test mode shows no reverb or chorus error.
