Looking for a schematic/service manual for a Boss RC-3 looper pedal.
I have found schematics for the RC-20 and RC-20XL but they aren't similar enough to help (the RC-3 employs Roland's "ESC2" DSP which requires numerous low voltage's that the other pedals don't require). My problem looks to be early in the power supply with the basic power switching. Not switching as in Battery versus Adapter but switching as in an enable line that is pulled up (disabling power) until an output jack is plugged in at which time the line is grounded and the supply is supposed to turn in.
My RC-3 has fluid damage so two of the pads for a power switching transistor are no longer there. Most parts are surface mount and very small and the PCB is 4 or more layers so tracing anything on this pedal is tedious. The sad thing is that as far as I can tell the fluid damage isn't from a spill but looks like it may be from the factory from inadequate drying after defluxing (or fluid contamination if a no wash flux process was used).
