Welcome to the place.
Reading through your post, I'm not certain that I understand the actual problem. The amp light up but there is no sound?
Do you have a schematic or a link that you can...
Check the ground connection on the reverb return cable at the tank. Check all of the RCA plugs for that matter.
Also check the internal wiring of the tank.
I have had little luck on working on any of these amps with the auto-bias circuit.
The first time a few years ago a Super Sonic came in with a bad bias unit. Luckily it was only a bad connection...
That cap will probably work, but mounting may be a problem. What is wrong with the cap you have? Being higher in value doesn't mean that it is bad.
Stacked knobs from a Jazz Bass? Stacked knobs from a Danelectro guitar?
Without looking up the code numbers, it could be that the grounding scheme of the two tanks were different.
When the original tank was in place, a bad connection could have ungrounded the shell,...
You need to use the DIN connectors for the two mic inputs and the footswitch connector, as the 3rd input that is recommended for instrument use and the output have already been changed to 1/4" phone...
If the last photo is the wheel after you have abraded it, you still have a few problems.
The shiny section is still going to slip because there is still a depression where the tape touches the...
Just out of curiosity, did you read any voltages on the pins of the ICs before removing them? Did any of them seem to be getting warm?
The center bearing looks to be serviceable, but there is a tape path indentation line along the outer surface. At least you don't seem to have a big dent in the roller from having the roller left in...
Here's the link www.terrysrubberrollers.com.
The cost was $35 plus shipping ($6), but check with him.
Yes, it seems to me that your amp is basically in need of a 10,000 mile tune up. Get yourself a can of DeoxIt contact cleaner and use it to clean all of the pots and all of the jacks (yes, even the...
You can have the original roller rebuilt with new rubber. I had two of them done last year by Terry in Michigan. Very nice work and fairly quick service as well.
Where are you located?
The battery clip should have a red wire and a black wire. The black wire usually goes to the ring contact of the input jack. This way the battery is turned off when the input plug is pulled out of...
Here are the wire connections for the pc board.
Red- Battery Positive
Orange- Expander control Wiper
White- Expander control CW
Blue- Input to foot switch
Black- Circuit Ground (Earth)
Brown-...
From the photos of the pc board, that looks like either a Univox Super Fuzz or a similar circuit.
You can probably find a schematic online somewhere and then see if the circuit has been connected...
Welcome to the place.
Have both of the wires been pulled off of the board? Those new boards are pretty messy and as I remember them there are no terminal markings on any of the pc points.
Try...
Common problem with the pilot light is an intermittent socket.
If you move the wire leads going to the socket and the lamp flickers, you need to clean the contacts.
I thought that I had read somewhere that these boxes were originally Russian military designs. They are overbuilt and depending upon what color scheme, currently way overpriced.
Agree with the others, but if this is 6 month old amp, you should have had Fender fix it for free.
If you look at the schematic, there are only a couple of components that separate the two channels. When the relay turns on the distortion channel, C53 is added to the signal path. If you have a way...
Divide and conquer, find out if the main source of the hiss is the power amp or the reverb mixer board or the individual preamps.
Try grounding the input/output jack on the back panel and see if...
If there is a loud hum, you first need to figure out why that is.
Is there any DC voltage on the speaker output?
The second side of V2 is not used in your amp so the zero voltage on pin 6 is normal.
The plate resistors are typically 100K like R4, R11 and R16.
I'm sure we will all start to see a lot of this stuff turn up on eBay and other sites, just like all of the Kustom speakers and parts that are out there now.
Sorry, that fet is not part of your amp.
When you switch channels to distortion, does the normal volume control have any effect on the signal level?
If the channel is switching, then the problem may be in the gain setting fet.
I'm not in the shop, so I don't have copy of the schematic in front of me, but there is an fet switch that adds a...
