Screen grid resistors design- robust tone

You can just drop the plate voltages with a resistor. I've done this and it works

BTW, if you have no sound from using one of those jacks, do try another. It isn't a blown OT. Don't ask me how I know this

I will sometimes parallel three 100K 1/2 Watt resistors on that CF resistor then you can try the other tube types u7 - y7 - t7 - . It then is simple to remove...

I modded a JCM800 which also had this strange low-in circuit. I made sure to move that insert point forward so that the Low-in goes straight to the tube grid....

I have a Champ here, just need to drop the remaining 6V6 screen voltage just 15 V or so for the robust JJ. Even with a 2.7K screen resistor it is seeing 485V....

Same mixer here. I just fixed it seeing bad soldering on the four main power wires arriving at the main board.
