I've been thinking about upgrading my dunlop wah to a fasel inductor. Has anyone done this?? Is it just a drop in replacement or are there other mods required. Your help is appreciated.

    Fasel shmasel

Depends on which version of the crybaby you have. Over the years Dunlop has gone through about ten different inductors in those things, and IMHO finally got them right. If your wah has the smooth black plastic encapsulated inductor, that's the good one. Too bad it probably has the stupid battery door that breaks the first time you open it. Go ahead and try the Fasel, the red one sounded good to me, but the yellow one didn't really excite. Your mileage may vary- The real fun is just hooking different inductors up to hear the results.

Actually, sod the Fasel. They aren't a patch on the good old Halo Inductor which were found in the earliest Wah pedals such as the Clyde McCoy.
As it happens, I make Halo inductors which I use in my own Wah pedal in place of every other type of inductor I've ever used before.

I recently did those mods also i used a replica halo i got off ebay your original inductor should have only 2 leads on it most replacements only have 2 leads that come from the coils you can identify them by a tiny wire going to them. If you use a halo you can bend the others back. With the fasel and the other mods this page may help http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.castl...enfuz/wah.html
I would also use a continuity meter on the switch to make sure that you have it wired right. Hope this helps.
