  • Vox Night Train

I was wondering if anyone had the schematics to the Vox Night Train...

My dealer site shows Night Train - model NT15H.

There is no schematic and no parts list there.

COntact Vox and ask for it.

As a 15 watt amp, it sounds like it should be pretty simple.

Sorry for the bad link back there.

I drew the schematic from the PCB. The tone stack and PI had me going in circles so if you see anything weird on there let me know. The input switching on the Cliff jack is a bit funky too , some bits are on the metal chassis and others are grounded to the PS.

that triode/pentode labeling doesn't make any sense....according to 'your' sch...it switches between UL and std pentode mode

                  so what is it really?

That's how it is wired , I've just checked it . In "Triode" mode there is 470 Ohms between pins 7 & 9. In "Pentode" mode pin 9 goes to the screen supply via the 470R.

ah, now I see....the way you had it drawn, it appeared to have UL taps.....so I blame you for my stupidity

                      nice schemo, btw

Are you sure the master volume is correctly drawn? It doesn't look like a normal PPIMV. If it is correct then can anyone explain why it is done that way? If VR1 was 470K and C15 & C30 not present then it would make more sense.
