  • pickup installation problem

    Hi All,

I recently installed the Fender Lace Sensor Pup (Blue,Silver,Red) on to my strat

2 out of the 3 pup sounds fine after I solder them in.

The Blue is the one giving me the problem. It is the nect pup

I compare the blue volume with the other 2 and it is a lot quieter.

I knew something doesnt sound rite.

Anyone know what can be the problem

    THanks,

Perhaps this is stating the obvious... but did you try putting the pickup closer to the strings? Also, is it a vintage style pickup? That would make it more quite than the other two if the other two are HOT pickups.

its pretty much up to the string already...highest i can put.....

the volume is a lot different than the other 2.

The pickup is suppose to be like the 50s humbucking sound..

Check the low output pickup solder joints 1st. Then look at other wiring connections in the guitar for cold solder joints, shorted wires and look at the guitar's pickup selector switch carefully to make sure you are getting good contact with the blades. If they look ok, try changing position of the pickups in the circuit to make sure it is not the actual pickup. Try jumping the low output pickup's hot to the guitar jacks hot connection to see if volume improves. Also verfiy you have a good ground with the low output pickup.

Make sure you followed the instructions and wiring diagram exactly that came with the pickups. If your not sure about any of this, take it to a friendly guitar tech to look it over.

        Good luck

        Jim
