Mesa triple rec head help!!!!!!!

I have a mesa triple rec head and i play metal.
I use channel 3 for distortion and channel 1 for clean but since i use so much gain on channel 3 when i click over to channel 1 it is a lot quicker then 3.

Is the a way to boost up the level for channel 1 without having to turn down the gain on channel 3.

Turn down the channel volume on ch3, turn up the gain (as high as you can and still like the tone) and channel volume on ch1, and turn up the master volume.

How much gain and mids are you using on ch3?
