  • Fender convenience outlets miswired

I have yet to come across a Fender amp with the rear chassis convenience outlet wired correctly!

The Black (hot) wire goes to the small slot and the White (neutral) goes to the big slot. They are all bassakwards!

BTW where can I buy replacement chassis outlets? I would like to find both 2 and 3 slot outlets.

    Thanks!

And what makes you believe that this is wrong?

      Oops. My bad.

I meant to say that the black wire SHOULD go to the small slot, etc.

In Fender amps the white wire seems to always go to the small slot.

        Chassis Outlet

I have seen the chassis outlets in the latest Antique Electronics Catalogue, but I have not been able to find it on the site: Antique Electronic Supply

Well, that speaks volumes to getting a real catalog from a supplier.

SO plug the part number from the catalog into the web site search and see how it comes back.

Theoretically, how much current can you pull from the convenience outlet when the amp is in use on stage? Could you plug another amp in there with success?
            Thank You

The mains cord is wired directly to it. You are limited by the ratings for the power cord itself, the wall outlet rating, and the convenience outlet rating.
