Here is a problem that I have with my mesa mkiv bought second-hand through e-bay seven months back.
I power it up, leave it on stanby for two-three minutes and then turn it on. For about four seconds the amp sounds as it should be. After that the sound reduses significally in volume, the gain on the rythm 2 and lead channels also decreases. The result is a shaggy, deflated sound. Sometimes it even goes complitely silent; espacially if I leave it on standby more time.
In order to find out if there is a tube problem I replaced all four output tubes with a matched quad of tube amp doctor 6l6gc's (which I would've done anyway) and replaced the preamp tubes one at the time with one that I knew that worked for sure. Nothing seems to resolve the problem. Please HELP!
I thought u should also know that the amp is an early model (I think it's a 1990 one) so it's well over any warranty. Finally there is NO authorized mesa technician or dealer in Greece where I live.
