  • Blue Voodoo clean channel hiss without volume

This may be a complete newb question, but can someone give me some pointers about what to look for on this issue? I have a BV6212 amp that is from the mid 90's. I noticed the clean channel has hiss even when the volume is completely off. I replaced all the tubes and didn't see much if any difference. I tried pulling individual tubes but the hiss didn't go away until the channel went away. Is this a component problem?

Probably. If it isn't a tube, not much left. Resistors get noisy.

So I'm looking for a bad resistor? I was planning on doing some component checking anyway. I'll see what I find.

        YOu need to...

        isolate the problem.

FInd out where the noise is and is not. You shoulod be able to narrow it down to a stage.
