  • Silvertone 1458 wiring diagram

Can anyone send me a wiring diagram for a Silvertone 1458 (Guitar in case with built in amp). These were made by Danelectro for Sears- early 60's- and had dual concentric pots and 2 pickups, wired in series.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Silvertone 1458 wiring diagram

Don't have a wring diagram labeled for the Silvertone 1458, but I do have some Danelectro diagrams. The one here:

    http://www.danguitars.com/user/Lipstick_pu_wiring.JPG

is for the Dan-O 59-DC. It does not have the pickups wired in series. They are wired in parallel to be able to go through their own Vol/Tone pot set and then the hot wire goes to the pickup selector toggle. If the Silvertones were wired different, I can't tell you. If you look into the guitar and see the pickup selector toggle has only three connectors and three wires, it is in parallel like the Dan-O. Another way to tell would be if the volume/loudness increases when you have both pickups selected. If so, then it is wired in series. If you get more sound, but no more volume they are in parallel.

Not that I am claiming to be the expert. I am far from it, but I have a Dan-O Double Neck 6/12. It has two lipstick pickups on each neck and the same stacked pot setup like you have. I reckon the wiring would be same from the neck selector to the jack as yours. And, mine matches the diagram noted above.

Schematic Heaven has a lot of schematics. I found the Sears 1448 (http://schematicheaven.com/bargainbi...rtone_1448.pdf), which is probably the same amp. The 1448 line-up is 12AU6, 50C5 and 35W4. This was a common radio tube amp setup for cheap amps. Kay 703 has the same basic circuit. What's your tube lineup?
