  • Behringer PMP5000

Customer brought in a PMP5000 with channel B blown.
    Actually it blew gracefully.
The (3) mosfets are toast. The .03 ohm current sense resistor is a puff of carbon.
    And T12 & T16 are shorted.
I am having a bit of a problem sourcing the 3 milliohm resistor because I do not know the wattage rating.
If the component length is any indication, I would have to say it is a 3 watt device.
I found this item at Newark:
    VISHAY DALE|WSR3R0300FEK|RES, CURRENT SENSE, 0.03OHM, 3W | Newark.com
Does anyone know the actual wattage rating of the Behringer resistor?

It is a 2W KOA, but if a 3W fits the pads, why not?

    Wouldn;t 0.03 ohm be 30 milliohms?

I just soldered one of those in friday, gotta fire the thing up tonight and see what happens.

If nothing else, one could take the rated output power into a specified load and determine the current. That wouold provide a basis to invent a power spec for that series part. But parts list says 2W.
