  • Adding Reverb to a 5E3????

Has anybody heard a good reverb add for a 5E3 circuit? If so, where/what?were there many/any tonal trade-offs? Thx, Mike

I've had pretty good luck adding reverb to my ODS clones using this schematic from Gary at Glaswerks:

It won't do Dick Dale, but it's enough to help set the guitar in the mix.

Thx Normster. That looks similar to the Fender Sytle Reverb Circuit. I've tried that approach before, it requires some work getting the impedance balance correct and adding a mixer stage. I may opt to just put a Front end reverb like the Stand alone aproach. Thx again.

        Mike,

The Fender Champ 12 uses an unusual circuit; I worked on one once, it sounded OK but the reverb wasn't really strong:

The reverb is driven from the speaker output, and the tank output is sent thru a JFET switch to a 12AU7 stage off to the left (I couldn't fit this, after 10 minutes of resolution/color depth fiddling I gave up) and then on to the output tube grid.

I'm not really recommending this circuit, just posting it as an interesting variation.
