  • Question on bias - tremolo and bias

    Hey all!

I own a Dynacord Twen amp that has been rebuild into something close. I added a adjustable bias to it and added a bias tremolo following the schematics of Fender.....

Now, I only changed the depth pot to 1M as that was the stock value in the Dynacord.

When I turn on the tremolo my bias raises 200% (and varies). Is this bad? The tremolo is pretty sweet but I don't want to burn tubes........

The bias usually goes hotter on a bias-vary trem when the trem, is running, and that is quite normal. However, for this reason, it is advisable to bias the output tubes somewhat cooler than you would normally bias them (say at around 60% instead of 70%). This will also give the trem more slam BTW
Building a better world (one tube amp at a time)
