THD attenuator is very expensive ,because it provide universal attenuation.
In fact, we know ,people hearing is only sensitive in middle sound, too lower,and too lound , hearing will be slow.Could we only attenuate the sound in sensitive area ,so we don't need compensating again . Therefore, different power amp need different attenuation, if we want make universal attenuator, it is expensive certainly.but many functions are no useful.
50w amp need smaller attenuation, 100w amp need larger attention, If we make different attenautor by different power, It will reduce the cost larger, so many people can use it also
