  • Ampeg B-2RE problem

My brother plays an Ampeg B series B-2RE head through a B Series Cab. The other day at rehearsal something happened and it produced a very weak sound, and hardly any tone. We let it rest for half an hour and turned it on again, still nothing. Here's a couple things that happened, which may have nothing to do with anything:

-The amp was turned on and off a few times within a short period of time.
-I tested my cable by playing my guitar into the bass rig for about 2 seconds.

That's all that happened out of the ordinary. We go back home this weekend to see if it will work again.

    Any thoughts??

I have the same problem with my Ampeg SVT350T. This first happened 9months ago. The next day it was all fine. Now the problem came back.

    Did you fix the problem?
Anybody has the schematic for the SVT350T ( it is not like the 350H)?

well, it could be a lot of things. The last B2-R I worked on had a bad solder joint on Q4 in the front end of the power amp.

Thank you guys. The 350T schematic above is different from mine. My amp is built with MJ15023 instead of mosfets and works with +70V/-70V. Any ideas?
