  • Can you paint grill cloth ?

Just wondering if it can be done without affecting the sound?

think it may look better than stick plastic things to it...

if not no bother... i also have a back up plan!!

You can, not sure how it might effect the sound. Your post reminds me of a time I traded in an old Crate amp and 4 x 12 speaker cab. It was my son's, and he hadn't played it for a couple of years and it was taking up room in my garage, and he owed me money anyway. So I was perusing the used gear at a local GC and they had a bitchin old Alamo Paragon Bass amp. I wanted to trade the Crate in towards that Alamo, but my son had sprayed on a red hammer & sickle emblem onto the front of it. I grabbed a can of black spray paint and covered the entire grill cloth with it, let it dry overnight, then stuck it into the back of my car and took it down to GC and made a deal with them for the Alamo, that old Crate plus a 100 bucks. Heeeheeeheee, that old Alamo is one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard.

How many grilles you need? These are under $20.

And buying "speaker grilles" probably costs more than going to Home Depot and getting a sheet of metal grille material.

          Hey, even cheaper:

As lond as you just use enough paint to colour the cloth and don't block the air holes, you'll be OK painting the cloth.
