Push Pull pots?

does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes long shaft push pull pots that will actually fit the control plate in a Gibson Les Paul?

I think that AllParts makes them. I guess you could try Gibson...? Some of the ones I've gotten have only SPST switches.

the allparts ones are the same dimensions as the other ones. funny thing about gibson is that they make a short shaft version that is the right size but i would need to get rid of the control plate entirely to use them so whats the point right. i heard that cts made an spst version but they discontinued them and they are really hard to find now.

They are all 3/4" long threaded shaft.

You don't need that control plate in there. If you left it in, the switch might stick down too far anyway.

i know that i don't need the control place but if i take it out i will need to replace all of my pots and i don't want to do that again. i already replaced the 300k pots with 500k pots. also, the switch does not stick down too far, the 3/4 inch shaft works fine

Why would you have to replace your pots?

i assumed that i would have to replace them with short shaft pots, never taken the plate out before so maybe not but it seems that the long pots would just be too long after that.

having thought about that for a minute i suppose i could just put another nut on the shaft to shorten it up, oh well.

Yes, that's how it's done. I use some long shaft pots in some guitars who's tops aren't as thick as a LP and have to do that.

thanks for the info, now i know not to look for those full size push pulls anymore.
