Capacitor Voltage rating Question

Is it ok to use a say, 600 volt cap when the schematic suggests say a
50 volt cap if thats all you have lying around ??

Yes. The rating tells you the highest voltage you can put across the cap, but lower voltages are OK.

Remember, that caps with lower ratings usually come in smaller packages. That might be a thing to remember, if it's a tight fit.

Yeah, the 600 V orange drop is about 10X the size, thank god for long leads.
